Been lurking here for quite a while. Great site, I've learned a great deal and had a few ideas sparked by everyone's posts. I used to be a millwright and I enjoy keeping my hands in (so to speak). I have a fairly well equipped small shop in ny garage. Anyhow, I thought I'd finally post something. I keep my 14 foot Lund beside my shop and I got tired of lugging the 15 HP Yamaha back and forth so I finally built this for moving it around and storage: It was built from scrap around the shop (2 x 2 square tubing and some pipe). The wheels are off a junk snow blower. I thought I might have to add some braces to the uprights but it seems more than rigid enough.I'm pleased with how it turned out. I just grab the handle on the front and motor cowling and it's just like wheeling a dolly full of boxes around. Now if spring would just come soon (not much hope of that!) so I can get back to fishing with the kids.......Cheers,Bill
Reply:Hello fellow YamaLund owner! And welcome to the board. Nice job on the cart. It looks like it's pretty stable without braces. The tires look like the ones I have on my Ariens snowblower, but they're probably all standard.Work was very slow this year so I didn't have the ambition to get out much. But I am always hoping for spring. Until then I will have to just plan on hitting the ice"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:Welcome aboard! Great stand. Save your back and get more space in the shop as a bonus. Nice.
Reply:I hate carrying outboard motors. Good Idea
Reply:That looks very handy.
Reply:nice work where did you get the wheels
Reply:Thanks for the positive comments.ed mac: my neighbor gave me his old White snowblower (I'm the guy in the neighborhood known for taking any old junk and using it). It wasn't worth fixing (about 15 years old I think and completely thrashed as he kept it outside under a tarp summer and winter) but I cannabilized anything I thought might be useful off it before sending the remains to the scrapyard. That's where the wheels came from (probably more info than you wanted).Cheers,Bill
