3PT hitch PTO generator

My dad got this PTO generator from a family member who used to be a dairy farmer.  It's a pretty nice, low use 25kW unit.  It was mounted to a small trailer when we received it.  Always looking for an opportunity to save space (and the trailer was not in great shape) I decided to build this frame so we could use the generator on the 3pt hitch of our tractors.  I made the main frame out of 2x2 1/8th wall square tubing, and the diagonal braces are 14ga 2x2 tubing.  I tigged 90% just because I like to pick up the tig torch whenever I have a chance.  I used the mig in the areas I could make my torch fit.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, I'm thinking about checking into local power coating prices before I send it back down to my dad.  Just though I would share.  I don't have any weld pics right now, these are all cell phone pics.Lincoln Precision TIG 225Hobart Handler 175

Reply:Very nice job dragr8cer! The thing I like most about this project is the way you designed skids into this frame. Instead of messing with pallets and blocks to keep the generator off the ground when it is not in use, it is always at the right level and ready to hook up to the tractor. Reply:glad you caught that wnywelder.  I realized this thing was going to be pretty heavy, so I put the skids on there so there would be no lifting involved when you hook it up.  I'm thinking about adding a hook to the front of the frame to keep the PTO shaft out of the dirt while it's not hooked up.  Any ideas anyone?Lincoln Precision TIG 225Hobart Handler 175
