Reply:Looks like you're getting that plaz thing down pat. Good work. One of my boys has a small silhouette of a mother and cub out at his place in the sticks. They look pretty good down by the crick and all. I'm thinking they'd be great if they were just a little closer to life size or at least half sized. If I was worth a crap at free hand I'd do it, but I ain't. It takes at least some talent and I have none at that sort of thing. What he did was put these two cut outs on a small wooden bridge over this real small creek. Looks neat. Stands out when you drive by."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt

Reply:Actually...I rarely do metal art. 99 out of 100 jobs on my machine are non art parts. This particular job was close to home as one of the guys was a family member. You can sell art for a lot more money....but it is often custome designed which means many hours sitting at the computer drawing and designing.....and no one wants to pay much for that time! It is good if you come up with universal designs for art...that can be easily re-used.I do much better just cutting parts for companies that need them. I do a stainless cutting job on a repetitive basis for $1000, it takes about $200 in material and about 1.5 hours machine time. I would like to have a few dozen jobs like this every month in my part time shop!Jim
