Reply:Nice RackCouldnt resist lolonly 4 tapes? Thats just not gonna get er done. When I was doing production, all the saw and drill guys used Craftsman 25 footers - and everybody had at least 4 or 5 of them. About once a week somebody would come around with a 5 gal bucket and gather up all the ones that had died that week and take them back to sears for replacements.FYI: it the hook 'pulls' off of the end of the tape and the tape rolls inside the housing - its under warranty. if the tape is so full of coolant, chips, mud, rust and, stuff that it wont move - its neglect and not their problem. (I think I have a coke can full of craftsman tape hooks around here somewhere.

Reply:Originally Posted by DSWI'm not sure they do that any more. My helper mentioned he'd took a damaged one (hook pulled off) and tried to return it and they told him they no longer take tapes back. He said he tried 3 or 4 Sears before he managed to get a manager to take his sob story that he needed it to complete a job, and give him a replacement. Told him never to come back with one again because they won't exchange it ever again. I guess whoever they used as a guide for "lifetime" waranty has died.
