Hi guys newbie here. I just bought a Blue point 120 gas wire fed welder. Is it possible to run this without gas? Do I need to hook it up to a breaker or can I just plug it in and get to work? Your input is appreciated.
Reply:You can run self-shielding fluxcored wire and go without the gas.  E71T-11 or E71T-GS in .030 and .035 sizes are both commonly available self-shielding fluxcored wires that your machine can run.On the electrical service, you need to make sure you're plugging it into the right voltage power source.  If it's a 120v machine, you should be able to run it on most 120v 20 amp circuits with a 5-15 or 5-20 plug.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
