Here's a piece I rebuilt for an antique reciprocating saw.  The teeth were 70% worn away . . . sorry I didn't take any "before" shots, but the shape of the worn tooth can be seen in the last photo.  The teeth were built up with silicon bronze, the tooth profile generated in CAD and machined on a small CNC mill.  Final photo is after a couple hours in a Vibrodyne.  Dynasty 300DXSmith He/Ar gas mixerMM350PHobart Handler 120Smith LW7, MW5, AW1A

Reply:Outstanding repair.
Reply:That's outstanding!Did you do that with G-code, or do you have a conversational system?Matt
Reply:Very nice.  The wear profile of the original teeth is pretty obvious in the "final" pic. Always like to see something old brought back to life.
Reply:Thanks for all the compliments.  I don't use the torch often . . . mostly at the track when nothing else is available.  Should have knocked most of the flux off the rod, would have made cleanup a little easier,  Endmills don't like to cut flux.  Originally Posted by denrepBeautiful fix. Thanks for posting the pics. How'dya figger the pitch and profile?Good Luck

Reply:Interesting.I just wonder how the (relatively) soft brass will hold up.It sure does look 'pretty' though.    The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...

Reply:Nicely done, it looks like borderline art to me.Gordhttp://gordsgarage.wordpress.com/
Reply:Originally Posted by Oldiron2As stated, he used silicon bronze which is pretty tough, wear resistant material. I doubt this equipment will ever be used except for show; I was wondering if it was an old drag saw, or something else.
Reply:I would appreciate a look at the machine if you can manage to snap a shot or two.
