Found this on Craigslist - I can just make out "with high frequency control" on the data plate. These any good? It's been posted in my area for a bit now - $595 for the machine, gas bottle, etc seems alright....http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/tls/1411816438.htmlIs that a bad deal or a bad machine? Thanks,Rick
Reply:try before you buy
Reply:I was more interested in if these are good machines - ie: can you get parts, were they more or less capable of what a modern machine can do, what would I not be able to do with it.... etc. Stuff that a simple test weld won't really tell me. I'm not very experienced with TIG - mostly MIG, Stick, and O/A so I'm not sure me running a test bead with it would even tell me much. Rick
Reply:Thanks for the ideas on what to look for. There are so many machines out there that even though it's a buyers market you have to be an informed buyer. I just want something to learn on and older is ok. But I had a feeling that machine was too old for me.Rick |
