Need Help with Running Boards

Hey dere;I want to extend the width of the foot rests on this Simplicity by 6 - 12" . So I am asking others their ideas as to how they done it, what they used, etc.Tanks Attached Images
Reply:i would probably try to run some tubing under the existing step and tie into the frame with. Then run a piece along the outside. Then cap on the outside ends of the tubing. Then cover that in expanded metal. Reply:Even Lowes and Home Depot have a small stock of expanded metal in their rod, tube, and sheet area.John
Reply:Horvik:Instead of the expanded metal, I would use diamond plate. It's used for this thing on boat trailers, trucks, etc. and gives a really nice finish. Also, you don't have to cap the ends like you do with expanded metal screen. Reply:Horvik,I may have the perfect material for you. I came across this raised expanded metal last week for free at a site I was visiting. I have no use for it (yet) but took it anyway because of the "give-away pricing". It's 16ga that measures 12" wide by 2.5" tall and is galvanized. all together I have 32 linear feet of it. I'll cut you 2 pieces and mail it to you for the cost of shipping if you're interested. Attached Images
