Been a long time since i ran stick in vert. up.Cant hardly remember the last time i had!All my vert.'s of late seem to be done with TIG and find it much easier. Anyways, i got to practicing today and found that i have lost it.Need to keep in practice for all positions of welding and not get lazy and do only flat and hor. ( and in saying that, i didnt prep the metal )Will keep up the practice from now on, and with the look of the beads im gonna need it.The welds are not that great but i thought i would share anyway. ( This aint like lookin' at ZT's welds ) People need to see the good, bad and the ugly. They almost look like an old lady's saggy g-string.Tie-ins are bad, actually, there aint much good. Fairly inconsistant.Forgot to get pics of the first pass.7014, 3.2/ 1/8 rod, 115ampsFirst pic is of 2nd,3rd and 4th pass.Second pic is closeup of 2nd pass ( on the left is a 6011 bead which i still haven't mastered yet)Third pic is of 4th pass (you can see a little of the 3rd pass at the bottom)tie-in bad Attached ImagesLast edited by LarryO; 11-04-2009 at 02:30 AM. |
