Im currently looking to purchase a portable Oxy Fuel Cutting set..Do you just buy like the welding/cutting tips and hoses and regulators or do you have to buy the bottles also?Or do you rent those? Please and thanks, sorry if this is the wrong section. Also where is a good place to start gathering tools and such..Looking to get some welding equipment like possibly drill press, table vice,bandsaw?..Just looking for now but really curious thanks =)
Reply:The bottles you can buy or lease. I prefer owning. Some suppliers will only lease the bigger tanks. You can also buy bottles used. I have bought a few bottles used. You can buy just a torch/tips/regs/hose set, or you can buy the whole set with bottles and a cart. The smaller rigs are often sold as complete kits. The bigger rigs are usually sold without the bottles and you acquire bottles seperately. You can also buy used rigs.Places to buy from new-Local welding shopHardware storeFarm storeTool storeMail order (without bottles)Internet (without bottles)For used equipment, try-Equipment TraderCraig's ListPennysaverNewspaperYard saleMM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
