Finally I have finished my water cooler torch, after many tests the procon pump is the way to go. The reservoir is a bit little (3 ltrs) so we will check if it's enough with the radiator. The housing it's from a water purificator, there is a relay controlled by the gas solenoid in the welder ....i think it will be enough, if not I will put a delay relay.I hope you enjoy........
Reply:when you say water purifacator did it also have a water cooling coil to give cold water?
Reply:No....it's only the original use for this housing, it was a water purificator...found it in the junkyard for 5 euros, using the tank/tubes/housing.Thanks
Reply:What kind of temps are you dealing with here?  I don't own a Tig and I've never used one, so I'm not familiar with the cooling requirements at all.  Are we talking about cooling 3ltr from hundreds of degrees F to ambient in seconds?

Reply:I'm curious why you are using a WP-24 style torch  (which is not rated for very much current, but can get into very tight areas)? Also, curious why you are using nitrile rubber gloves for welding rather than leather gloves (which handle heat much better than rubber)?Neat custom water cooler.  I like how you've got the whole rig (except gas bottle) on a hand truck.  I'll bet if you make sure not to run over any cables, it moves around pretty easily.

Reply:Your cooler looks good. I like the case and wish I had found a suitable one for my diy cooler. It's best to run the pump continuously for continuous flow through the torch, tank, and cooling radiator. That way you can recover from a heavy weld, getting the coolant temp back down to a reasonable temperature between welds. I plug my Proconn pump directly into the 120 vac output receptacle on the welder so it's on and circulating whenever the welder is on....no worry about forgetting to turn it on.  You can search my posts for the link to my diy cooler if you want to know more about mine.CharleyMiller MM252Miller Bobcat 225NTMiller DialArc HF / DIY Cooler2 Victor O/A TorchsetsMilwaukee 8" Metal SawMilwaukee Dry Cut "Chop" Saw 5 Ton Wallace Gantry Various Grinders, Benders, etc.
