I Want To Buy A New Welder

I want to replace, up grade, & up size my 70's Miller CP200.  What would you buy if it was your money?  Miller, Linclon, Hobart?  I have 4 welding stores a rocks throw away & they will all sell what ever they can sucker me into.  I want a welder not a new car.  This is farmer welding up to 3/8" or 1/2" + maybe a spool gun for aluminum.  Who has a full meal deal?  What can I expect for a fair price on the old welder?

Reply:I'm guessing that XMT's and Powerwaves are a bit too close to a "new car" for the OP. The T/A 252i is a very nice machine, I was quite impressed when I saw it at Fabtech last year. If he's on a budget, the Hobart Iron Man 230 is a lot of bang for the buck, and there are good deals available for it bundled with a spool gun.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
