I wanted to build a welder cart for my HH210 that placed the welder a bit higher off the floor, allowed room for 250 cu ft and larger bottles and left room to add an upper shelf for a plasma cutter when I finally buy one. I decided it would be good practice to tig weld virtually all parts of it (I used the mig to put the front and rear cross bars on the bottom tube and to spot weld the shelf sheet metal in place...which is coming back off) I did some things that I'd do different next time and I have a few changes to make (rounding the corners of the pads for the castors for one, changing out the 16 ga plate that I had issues welding in place is another and painting it as well) and I'm looking forward to input and comments as I have no doubt that this group will see mistakes that I haven't noticed yet. A few right off the top: I didn't get the chrome finish removed well enough from the fire extinguisher hook and it frosted the plate and the weld when I attached it, the plate on the top (the shelf) is going to be removed, the welds ground down and replaced with something else, and one of the bottle support bars moved once I started welding it and it's slightly crooked and I'm going to fabricate a shelf for the bottom to hold consumables and accessories. I've owned a tig for a bit less than two years and have had some assistance from friends who do TIG weld for a living. My skills still need much work, but practice is the key and this cart was basically practice. Attached ImagesKevinHobart Handler 210Tweco Fabricator 181iLincoln Squarewave Tig 175
Reply:Here we are, warts and all. And I am guessing I was too hot on the weld on the pad for the castor, hence the grey color? And there is some under cutting on the top of the lower bottle bracket bar. Attached ImagesKevinHobart Handler 210Tweco Fabricator 181iLincoln Squarewave Tig 175

Reply:Kinda distorted but it looks like it won't go anywhere fast..Your corners need work BAD..(See Last Pic)..Slow down and go around the corner without stopping until you get to the flat area..You'll get there....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Corners seem to really give me a fit. I welded them as straight lines and couldn't seem to get around the corners (nor was a sure what the trick was). Should I round the corner and make a few dips before stopping? Or try to get in position to do both sections in one pass? Thanks for the input, that's why I tried to post decent pics. And Zap, in the last pic did I start cold, or am I too hot at the end? I'm looking at it and thinking it's a bit of both possibly?Last edited by trackbird; 01-27-2011 at 04:03 PM.KevinHobart Handler 210Tweco Fabricator 181iLincoln Squarewave Tig 175
