What is the difference? Is one better suited for something than the other? I know they are both replacements for Thoriated but don't contain the radioactive material. Both work for AC and DC. I am just curious what the intended purpose for each of them is.Both OK for inverter machines?
Reply:Good info here.http://www.diamondground.com/Guidebook0105.pdf
Reply:Thanks pulserAfter reading that, to me it seems like it would simplified by just using Lanthanated for everything in a basic shop like mine
Reply:Sounds like a logical way to go.
Reply:I found the same source of "info" as pulser a while back, I agree, Lanthinated is a good choice. It holds up, maintaining a nice tip, and has no problem with arc start. It is my first choice for welding alum. Ceriated works really well for steel, but doesn't seem to work as well as Lanthinated for alum."SOUTHPAW" A wise person learns from another persons mistakes;A smart person learns from their own mistakes; But, a stupid person.............never learns. |
