Is this Smith Argon flowmeter worth fixing

I bought a tank today off CL and the guy gave me this meter.  I hooked it up and it is leaking somewhere between the tube and the adjustment/control valve.  I took the tube out and it is either the rubber ring that sits between the top of the tube and the adjustment/control valve or it is the O ring on the adjustment/control valve stem treads.  Not sure if it is worth it because I don't know if they will just sell the O ring and the little rubber ring that sit on top of the tube or if I have to buy a complete kit ....if they even still sell it for this gauge since it looks pretty old.  I'm sure if I take it to some shop they will want to do a complete service on it which might cost almost as much as buying a new gauge.Any opinions or suggestions will be welcomed.thanks,
Reply:Take the top off and find the bad seal.McMasterCarr.com has Orings and Quad rings that will work fine.  But you have to buy a package.Or if you have a good old mom and pop auto parts store, you can ask if they stock air conditioner seals and orings. He may even be able to trouble shoot the issue and just get you the specific part rather than a whole kit. He'll can also tell you if it simply isn't cost effective to try and rebuild it.Inert gas regs aren't a big deal to work on, but I'd always send in an O2 reg that needed service. FYI, HP O2 requires special care and lubes and isn't something someone should tackle unless they know what they are doing..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Timeless..... Have it repaired / re-furbished. That one is better than any brand new one you could buy today.Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.
Reply:thanks, I will look into getting the seals but after taking it to 2 shops I found one that realized what the problem was.  It was the tube, it had a small crack on the top.  I bought a new one and it is good to go.  I plan to replace the O-ring and rubber seal on the top and bottom of the tube but for now it's working fine. Both shops said the same thing that it is a high quality unit.thanks for the suggestions.
