AD Filter Colors

Hey guys Ive read alot of posts on diffrent filters but want to narrow my question down. Currently (and for the past few yrs) I use a gold passive filter. From time to time a auto dark would be very helpful and faster. Unfortunatly I have 2 problems, 1 going from gold to green its like I might as well close my eyes and try to weld lol cant see anything. Best Ive used so far is a Miller Elite which I would use if not for my second problem, Green gives me a massive headache within 10-15 minutes. So my question. What are my options? I know Jackson has the True Sight and heard a rumor that Esab makes an amber ad to compete with Jackson. Anybody using one of these? How do you like it? Is there anything else besides these 2?
Reply:IMO the Jackson is just as green as the Miller. Reply:Speedglass has less emerald color, you might try those. Borrow one, because they are different, lots like them, some hate them.Constant Current Weldor.
Reply:Really? I thought the Jackson True Sight was sposed to be really orange? I did use a Speedglass for a while but it was like 8 yrs old and idk what model or anything. Are there diffrences or are Speedglass all pretty much the same?

Reply:Optrel has a true color AD helemet, and it's nice. I like mine.If you can try one, I reccomend it, it's better then the green filters..    I  also have a speedglas 9100x, and it's a greenish blue color.
Reply:I've got a jackson nexgen and 2 helmets each w/ a fixed shade gold lens in them.  That NexGen is stated to be amber.  I like that lense but to me it's kinda greenish brown.  It isn't anything like those 2 fixed shade gold lenses.My suggestion it to weld with what you are considering buying prior to buy it, if at all possible.  That way you can see whether you like it or not.That Jackson also flashes me once in awhile when TIG welding, hence the fixed shade helmets.
Reply:I wish I knew somebody with somethin different for me to try. I work as a sub contractor doing repairs for the county and like 4 or 5 different cities so I am constantly doing something new involving MIG TIG and ARC processes and thats why I want a second AD hood cause sometimes its just to much up an down for my passive even tho I LOOVE it! But the AD has to be somethin I like cause i could get a project i need it for like 10 hrs straight or somethin. I just never know. Thanx for the input!
Reply:Nexgen is the closest I've come to amber/gold thus far, and is the only AD I'll use when I need to see what I'm doing.  The lower end Jacksons are just as green as the rest.
