Mapp Gas Brazing

Just wondering what materials I can use other than safety silver 45 or 56 to braze with a mapp torch? I am brazing 3/16 brake line for craft projects. Any ideas?Thanks,-Gary
Reply:You might find it easier to look for a hotter torch for this. An air acetylene torch would work, but one of the small jewelers OA torches would be a better choice. With the micro OA rig you would have a lot more heat, and finer precision. One of the small "aircraft" torches would also work. For something like this you wouldn't need a big set of cylinders. a small MC acet cylinder and a small O2 cyl like come in the Depot kits would work. That or the B size acet cylinders plumbers usually use with the air acet sets..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:You can with a swirl flame, but you will use a ridiculous amount of gas and time getting it to just barely hot enough.
