What do you guys think of Washington Alloys wire? Anyone else used it. I've used Hobart's wire in my Handler until I noticed the Washington Alloy wire on the shelf at the local tractor supply, which is where I always purchase my wire. It was two or three dollars cheaper than the Hobart wire I had been buying, so I thought "why not?". Started welding with it a few days ago and I got to say I'm impressed with it. Seems to be better than the Hobart wire. Now keep in mind I've only used Hobart wire up till I tried the Washington wire. Just wanted other people opinions on various wires and Washington's products. Thanks.-PatSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:Washington Alloys just buys others wire and repackages it. If you ever take a look at their CMTR's, they attest to the fact that they don't really have a clue what the chemistries are, but if you can prove its not what you got, they'll replace the wire...That aside, my sites still buy a lot of their low alloy electrodes and solid wires based on pricing. Don't recall having any particular issues with it, other than having some straight lengths come in without being coined or tagged. |
