I have a Lincoln 100 that is good for a small welder but I am looking for a bigger mig welder. I am considering a Miller 212(old tap style)and the new 212 with the variable voltage. Both are new with warrenty. The older tap unit is $150 cheaper. I would like to know if the new variable voltage is a better unit. I am also looking at the older Lincoln pro mig 215 vs the pro mig xt. What is the difference between them. Thanks for any input Mike .
Reply:Yes, variable voltage is worth $150.My name's not Jim....
Reply:I don't know about the 2 Lincolns but on your question about the Millers, the variable voltage is a very nice feature to have. Meters are a great feature to have too. The Millermatic 252 comes with variable voltage and digital meters.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:The Miller 212 shows the welding output of 210 amps and the Lincoln 215 shows 250 amps is that going to be a noticeable difference in performance between the two.
