Dual Shield?

What exactly is dual shield wire? Is it just running gas with your flux core, or is it all together different? We run the stuff at work and I notice my overall weld quality is much better. I can't seem to find the stuff to fit my little 110v though. (Miller 130xp)Just another clown trying to be cool
Reply:Dual shield is a wire (filler) specifically designed to run with both a shielding gas and the shielding properties contained in the flux. Reply:I have used esab dual shield 7100 ultra in .035, .045 and .052.  The .035 was run on a miller 185, the .045 and .052 was run on 250 and up floor units and remote units in the shop.  I have also run the .045 through a ln25 and 12vs from a trailblazer 302.  I love esab wire.
Reply:I run 7100 lc in a lincoln 175 but it doenst run the best and is maxed out on power. I really need a xmt !

Reply:Sorry DR33 but I believe you are mistaken...I have ran pallets of Hobart Bros Fabco 110 in .045 using either an LN-25 tied onto an Invertec V-350 Pro, or with a PowerMig 350MP.Nice Stuff in the correct application.Have a Good DayLater,Jason
