What do you guys think this is for? My father bought it as a PTO powered water pump. To pump out water from a river but it never worked right so I think it something else. Anyone got an idea what it could be? Attached ImagesAdam MMorales Ranch

Reply:I,ll second that, looks like a blower with suction port on each side and a double entry impeller so as not to need a thrust bearing as such. Reply:It's a pto water pump. We have several around here. Some tractors have pto's that turn clockwise and counter clockwise, so make sure the pto is turning the pump in the right direction. Second thing to check is the impeller for wear. It's a very simple pump to work on, and they do work well.

So YES you can own too many tools.
Reply:How many feet of head are you trying to pump with it. The pump Duane showed only pumped 13.9 psi which isn't a lot.
Reply:Looks very similar to a trailer pump I have. Mine has one 20 inch discharge built of the impeller case. It will pump 14,000 gallons per minute. Lincoln electric has plans for it in one of there project books.

Reply:They use em in Alabama and Arkansas to aireate the ponds for catfish and other products.  The put that pump in and turn it with a PTO and it throws the water a good distance into the air and that cleans and oxygenates the water so the product continues to grow and thrive.  See em all the time on small farms.BobI'm spending my Kids inheritance, I dont like him that much anyway!!!!!!Enuff tools to do the job, enough sense to use em.Anybody got a spare set of kidneys?  Trade?
Reply:they use to use them here in kentucky..  near where i live is a wildlife management area, they used to pump water from a creek and flood standing timber for duck season... was a blast hunting in it.. they pump an enormous amount of water.... seems like i remember the conservation officer say it was like 10,000 gallons per minute...  they had a big diesel pto drive unit that ran it 24/7 for about a month...adding this, they use these in arkansas also to flood rice fields. if you run it, add a good safety cage around it..Last edited by brucer; 02-11-2011 at 09:20 PM.tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
