Reply:I love home built stuff, I gotta build a bigger scrap pile! Cheers
Reply:I like that.  Its just hillbilly enough to be cool.  Needs a slick paint job, smooth, for less wind resistance.
Reply:Boy do I need a Tractor !!!I've got about 1/4 of driveway + 6ac to maintain.I keep things mowed with a 20hp 'garden tractor' but if I need dirt moved, areas cleared, etc it cost me a fifth of scotch for my neighbor to bring his Kabota over. Not a bad deal but I sure would like a little more independence.A 'big' tractor is too big and the little ones go for a premium  to collectors/restorers.I looked into grey market tractors but besides not being 'cheap' they can be a real service problem. Can anyone point me to a site tha'll give me a start on building my own ?Planet X - Can you provide any particulars on the tractor posted ?Engine ? Trans ? rear end ?Thanx, Chuck U&R

Reply:Please understand that Ole man Archie, is a WWII Vet. And his  time had less lawyers and more personal responsibility . So use your own common sense if you decide to use some of his 'notions'Rear axle: Attached Images"after a long day of doing nothing...its gooood to kick back" Pumbaa

Reply:I admire the "old Archie's" of the world that can cob together stuff like this out of bits and pieces. I'm just not auto/mechanically experienced. Bicycles were my thing growing up. My wife taut me to drive, to put it context. Never changed a flat tire on a car, even.200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.

Reply:I agree it's a cool tractor, with amazing creativity but it took us 7 years to realize it (date on thread)?? Stats on the OP shows last activity of 7/18/2004. While I'm sure he would apprciate our appreciation, I don't think he'll be back anytime soon to see it.
Reply:heres to archie.......and all the vets...
