Hobart 140 + Generator

I just inherited a Hobart Handler 140 and decided to start learning to weld instead of selling it. I have a Champion 3500w/4000w generator. Is that enough to run the 140 out in the field? Hobart's site says 2760w is the minimum required, but more will be required.
