Anyone have the knowledge that can show/tell me how to build a propane Burner to control heat on a large BBQ smoker?
Reply:Unless you're going to use forced air, you'll probably want to copy the long propane burners that come under restaurant griddles. They have a small venturi funnel at the front where the propane is injected, and then a series of holes along either side of the pipe where the flames come out. Try looking at Ron Reil's website for information on the pressures/orifice sizes/etc for the venturi. Sorry I have no idea how to match the size of the burner holes to the intake... you'll probably need to experiment or talk to someone with some fluid dynamics background.Weld well; grind less.
