I am about to purchase a either a Miller 140 or a Lincoln 140 to build small frames out of 22 ga square tubing. I have researched and researched and can not decide which one I want. I have always been a fan of Miller, but the I know Lincoln is a good brand. Everyone give me your opinion...Thanks
Reply:Here we go again... They are both good brands. What is your color preference?"SOUTHPAW" A wise person learns from another persons mistakes;A smart person learns from their own mistakes; But, a stupid person.............never learns.
Reply:Personally I'm a fan of Miller products, but mostly thats because they are what's easily available locally, and what I've learned on. I'd have no problem however owning most Lincoln products however. If I had to get a machine this instant, and the Lincoln was available and the Miller wasn't, I'd be happy with the Lincoln. Given a choice however, I'd take the standard Lincoln migs over the models sold at Home Depot or Lowes. I know exactly how those stores work to hit a specific price point. Lincoln has to compromise on something to get there. If all you plan to weld is 22g material, any of those machines are great with 75/25 and .023 wire..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
