Well my cylinder is 80 CF, seems to be going fast. Last week I got a new one and I swear the gauge said 1,800 PSI. Then 4 days later I went to use it and it was down to 1,600. My buddy said it was because of the temperature. So I welded 8 hrs on Fri, 4 hours on Sat, and 4 hours today. The gauge is showing barely 200 PSI. The outside temps have been about the same, no drastic changes.I have checked for leaks with soapy water, no leaks. I am using 75/25 with my pressure set at 30 psi. Is this normal usage? I thought it would last months. If this is normal I guess I'd better get a spare!
Reply:Anything over 15 is a waste.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:80cf/ 30 CubicFeet per Hour = 2.66 Hours of gas/arc time8 hrs welding/work4 and4Probably adds up to just about 2.66 hrs of actual gas/ Arc timeIf you are inside you can drop the rate down to 15CFH but if you are working that much an 80CF Tank is too small- as you have noticed.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge

Reply:Originally Posted by bigbThanks Broccoli, you made it clear. I wasn't thinking of usage in CFM doh. For some reason I was thinking the flow was in PSI.I am going to get a 40 just for backup, I don't have a lot of room for storage. That was a lot of welding for me, I won't be doing that much on a regular basis, I just don't have the time! I want a back up though, seems it likes to run out on Sundays.

Reply:125's and 150's are great if you have to move them around alot (mobile use).  They don't weigh much more than 80's and same diameter, just taller. If I had more vertical height available on my truck for storing bottles, I'd run with 150's, but 80 is the tallest size I can keep on the truck on a permanent basis.   250's and 330's are good for shop-only use where they will stay on a cart, or attatched to the wall.Last edited by DesertRider33; 01-18-2010 at 07:29 PM.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
