Will I have gone and done it again, got myself into another project. I bought a trike project that has sat for aleast two years none running. So the first thing is to see if the motorcycle will run, will it only took three days to get the engine to come to life. The next thing on my list was to tear it completely down for a total rebuild. The main reason for this was that I just did not like the looks or the rust. I will posts some pictures of the before and after tear down. I am now in the process of building from the ground up. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Attached Images

Reply:Is that a Honda motorcycle?  shaft drive?  Water cooled?  Looks like a  really cool project.
Reply:Looking forward to watching the rebuild, keep us all posted, and welcome to the forum!
Reply:The motorcycle is a 1200 Yamaha Venture water cooled. I will keep you all up to date with new pictures. This will be my first big project so I am hoping everything goes smooth. So far pretty smooth, but I am just doing the frame at this time. Thanks for the nice commets.I do have one question has anyone built a reverse trike and if so did you put any Rake from front to back? The reason I am asking is that I would like the trike to handle good and get a 50 - 50 weight distribution.Last edited by jeffcity2; 07-12-2010 at 12:07 AM.

Reply:very cool project,I been a aircooled vw nut for 30 years, & a motorcycle nut for 37, but im only 43... lolI still have my first bug I bought when I was 13, a 63, but its junked in the woods, but the motor I built when I was 13 is in a 71 super, & only rebuilt once since then. presently junking out a 73 & havent decided if I am going to junk out another 73, or sell it as it is very restorable.anyway good luck & keep me, or the board posted.Randy
Reply:Will to tell the truth it has been too hot to do much, I have been doing a little. I started to take apart the front-end and found the Ball-joints were bad and the Tie-rod ends were bad, but just 3 of the 4 were bad, so off to the parts house to get the new parts. The first picture shows the new Ball-joints & Tie-rods installed. The next was to order the Dropped Spindles & Disc Brake kit. The second picture shows the whole front-end assembled. The big ugly guy in the background is my brother who helped put the front-end together today. Now I have to get wheel studs & lug nuts. I hope you enjoy the pictures. The next stage is to get the motorcycle set in to the chassis. Then the hard work starts. Please don't look too close at the mess in my shop as I did not clean before taking the pictures. Reply:Your shop is 100 times cleaner compared to where I work.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Your right it does drive me nuts, but when you have too many tools & parts that can't set outside what do you do? I have 3 VW engines & parts plus tools in just that one bay. Been trying to sell stuff, but no one seem to have any money. When I built the garage I thought that 2000 sq. ft. with 3 bays would be more than enough room. How wrong could I be!Just an old man with a young Heart.
