Reply:No, you cannot run a CO2 mix with the GTAW process.
Reply:TIG uses plain argon pretty much for welding ANYTHING. That's it.Sometimes, if working on big pieces of aluminum, one might use an argon-helium blend for TIG. And the 'original' shielding gas for TIG was straight helium (ala Heli-Arc) until they found out that argon worked fine and was usually cheaper.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HeliarcMIG can use different shielding gases because it is a different process. And how long a cylinder of gas lasts depends on the flow rate you are using. At a nominal flow rate of 20 cfh (cubic feet per hour), a 40 ft3 cylinder should last 2 hours of welding time.Note that if you have a leak somewhere in the gas lines, a cylinder goes empty faster than you would expect. Reply:Hanny,Please read your manual. It tells you what to use. Page 18. Don't use the 75/25...Pure argon only for steel. If you need a link: http://www.everlastgenerators.com/do...ster%20pdf.pdfThe 40 bottle should last you a minimum of 2 hours. If you are using the "supplied" argon regulator it is in LPM, which is very "roughly" half of CFH. Start at 7lpm for your setting. If you'll look on the gauge, it shows the units of measure.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT

Reply:I only answered this way, because there are two questions you asked that have been covered in the manual. My concern is that people know that these questions are not from a lack of support, and product literature on Everlast's part, as so often people use these opportunities to attack Everlast from these kind of questions from our customers.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
