Reply:Looks very similar to the old Thunderbolts. With those the top crank often gets stuck, so make sure it will adjust thru the full range and test it if at all possible at different settings. Other than the cranks, there's not much that I'm aware of that usually goes wrong with older transformer stick machines like that.$100 for an AC only machine is mid range where I live. $50-150 is typical based on brand and condition for AC only stick units. Without seeing the actual machine it's hard to guess on condition, hence it's tough to say if $100 is fair or not. Based on the way that one looks, I'd say that $100 would be top money, assuming it will adjust and run. For that one I'd offer $50 and buy at $75 if I wanted the machine. If you can pick it up for less, chances that you can sell it later for what you paid goes up, but I could easily see you reselling it for $50 in good condition if you later wanted to upgrade. The only down side is sometimes it takes a while to find a buyer for older machines even at good prices.Good luck..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Thanks DSW - though it would make a good winter project - another question - can you get new decals for this welder - or would someone need to make themThe main thing is not to panic or get excited Bobcat 250, X-Treme 12VS, MM211Meltabo, Milwaukee,Porter Cable,Dewalt,MakitaVictor O/A, Ingersoll-RandEvolution Rage2, 40 amp PlasmaLincoln 225 AC/DC
Reply:The face would probably need to be custom done. Steve, 7A749 did a good thread called "saving face" about how to restore Miller faces. He probably has the "Miller" decals depending on the style and shape. If anyone here knows whats available, he probably does.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=37179.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
