I was given a roll of cronatron 311 .045 fluxcore wire the kind you use with gas can you use c25 gas and if so why is the gas fluxcore wire better than solid steel wire any input would be great.
Reply:C25 should be fine, but some wires are meant to run with 100% CO2. From what it seems like I doubt it would make much difference to you. I tried searching for cronatron and all I could find are MSDS papers, no mfg websites or parameters. Does the wire have a designation on it, like E7x-Tx with the X's being numbers of some sort? That will tell you much more about the wire.Gas shielded flux core wire is nice because of high deposition rates and deep penetration. Some wires also give you the ability to spray out of position, something you cannot do with solid wire unless using a pulser.Have we all gone mad? |
