Reply:Can't think of anything right off hand but I do know that I am never happy with anything I buy.  I always seem to modify darn near everything I use.  Picky as heck! That welder is awesome and makes me feel very old!Cletis

Reply:Are you guys using the HOW TO guide off the Yahoo groups website for HF saws?Honestly, Ive been thinking of getting a saw for myself, but since I have a Milwaukee Portaband....I just can bring myself to do it yet.  If I do, I will probably do the same type of mods that you guys have.  The hydraulic down feed and new table all seem pretty popular with those members on the Yahoo board.  Seems easy to do?What is your input on the ease of modification?  What was the hardest part?  Most expensive  mod?JD

Reply:This is a upgrade to an old 17" Delta drill press with foot pedal option. I tucked in an desk lamp under the head to light up the table and I installed a 58 rpm gearhead Bodine motor with a reversing switch to the hand crank shaft of the table and mounted it on a fabricated bracket. It works like a charm. I love these old tools. I have a shop full on them. Attached Images
Reply:this is my 1910 Buffalo Forge angle and T cutter that i got from an older fellow who told me it was his grandfathers. it was covered in rust but i took it apart and restored it to good working order. after i was done i felt like just keeping it in my living room as a reminder of those who did the work we have done before us and the tools they once used to help build this great country of mine. im proud to own this part of history. Reply:Very nice looking all-terrain cart. Not sure if this counts but I was going to make a cart for my behemoth of a welder and thankfully the wise people on this board pointed out that it may not be a great idea to go with some of the designs I had.  So I hunted around and stole an idea from someone on the "blue" sight and saw a cage for theirs.  I have limited garage space so I thought, why not make a workbench / cart for it.Some angle iron, scrap around the garage and here it is.  Bought a piano dolly at harbor freight on sale and smashed the balsa wood they use off of it just for the casters which was cheaper then buying 4 of them.  I dont use it to weld on, but it stores my welder, saves some space, allows me to move it, and is a great place to stack more crap on.Oh, and the rebar is custom.... Reply:It's nice to have one stand to work several items since you seem to focus on one at a time anyway.

Reply:The stand has a lot to do with how an anvil reacts and the sound it makes. I am curious of how much ring it has on that stand because it seems to be a decent idea.
