I live in a track community.  I have a decent size back yard and gates on both sides of the house.  But the gates are about 3 inches smaller than the width of my quads for the kids.  Its also a rental so knocking down the wall and expanding the gate is not an option.  The walls are the typical half brick and a metal frame gate with wood slats.I would like to put the quads on the side of the house to free up some space but the only option I can come up with are some long ramps or some sort of crane.  Neither of which did I really want to do, and if I did I suppose I would go with some ramps that break down.Anyone have an issue like this that they have dealt with or have some good ideas?
Reply:mattlago...challenge the kids to get them up on two wheels and let them ride through at a 45 degree angle! ;-)Miller MM 211Miller 375 XtremeO/A
Reply:I have thought about that.  Not the kids so much, but the idea of like a mini ramp on just one side.  Just dont know if that would give me the clearance.I have a 15 year old that would love to try to jump it.....
Reply:Is the height of the quads greater than the span of the gate? Build a cart will hold the quads upright on two wheels and roll them on it through the gate.
Reply:Thats not a bad idea.  Ill have to measure it.  Im wondering how big of all terrain tires i would need since my AZ landscaping is that crappy gravel.

Reply:Well, I measured it and it is 41 inches high and about 42 wide.  The gate opening is about 37 or 38.  Ugh.  Any other thoughts?
Reply:Modify that gate under the cover of darkness and make it so it looks like nothing happened.
Reply:Get a helicopter and tell your kids to have fun?Seriously though could you take the wheels off make a stand on wheels, put the wheels back on when you get out the gate then make it possible to lower the quad onto the ground and drive off. Then when done drive it back onto or over the stand raise it up take wheels off, wheel it through the gate and store it and the wheels on the stand?I know 'mildly' over complicated but it could work??? Would you get the clearance then?just a thoughtCody
Reply:Just knock one corner of the gate down, tell the property owner you "accidentally" caused the damage but not to worry, you "fixed" it good as new (just a little wider) .... :-)
Reply:How tall is the wall? If it isn't too tall a couple sets of ramps like you use to load them in the back of a truck might work ok if you can fasten them to the wall; or make an A-frame that straddles the wall to support and hold them. Just depends on how tall the wall is.HH 187Miller Bluestar1EAHP AlphaTig 200X
Reply:Kids bikes are pretty light. Plant a pole in the ground and lift it over with an electric winch and a swing arm..If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Reply:Narrow the rears or install smaller tires?.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:Pull the tires off, get a buddy to help carry them through the gate, and store them on timbers.  Keep the tires hidden away somewhere safe.  Kids won't go joy riding and missing tires might keep others from trying to take them.  Tires don't like sitting in the sun anyways. My name's not Jim....
Reply:Good solution Jim
Reply:sounds like you need to build a Gantry Crane :-)-- fredLincoln 180C MIG
