took my exam, got my CAWI, this was a few months back, the first time around i took the REAL ED course, and let me tell you i thought it was great. I missed my part B by one question, im pretty sure if i had a couple of less distractions i would have passed, but here i am retaking it, what i remember on the test was that it was mainly over the part b spec code with some NDE questions, i dont have the time to sit through a ten day course again, and i paid son set for their part B review. here i am taking it and completeing it and thinking WTF, this barely covered the practical portions of the exam at all, not sure how much i really got out of it. Do you guys have any reccomendations on this stuff, i have refamialirized my self with the spec, and feel far more confident on it, as i had little to no experience going through codes prior to the test, but landed a qc position since then and have learned quite a bit. the portions i struck out on were procedures and welder qualifications, and welding and inspection flaws, what could i study in the mean time for this stuff, other then really read the spec over and over again and go through all of it. any suggestions could help. Thanks.
Reply:you need to look at the AWS website, they tell you what all books you need to study. I had an inspector on a job gave me some books on a disc and I studied those for several months before I took the test and I passed it. I didn't take any of their courses, too damn expensive.Look in the bookstore on the site under inspection http://pubs.aws.org/index.php?cPath=455Last edited by TimmyTIG; 12-14-2012 at 10:48 PM. |
