A few of landings and a spiral. Can you believe I didn't take pics of the finished spiral. Attached ImagesLast edited by woodweld1; 04-03-2011 at 11:18 PM.
Reply:Somebody F'd up it looks like. Either your steps are way too short or the concrete/ paver guy did in those spiral stair picts. I make it close to 20" from the last step to grade if you have an 8" rise on those steps. My guess is the patio guy because none of the forms look right based on the house/stairs..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan

The porch area isnt going to be flat either, optical illusions are a pain in the arse... lots of different grades going on in the pic...
Reply:Wow,You guys make it so a guy wouldn't want to post pictures here.  BTW, look at the height on the footer in the left of the picture and how high the t-111 is.woodweld, thanks for sharing.  Is the spiral a kit or did you form it?  Can you tell us more about the inside staircase?thank you

Reply:The real pain in the A@@ one was the galvanized one at the park, every pc and pannel was hot dipped galvanized every post, picket and support tube had to be drilled (for galvanizing purposes). You experenced guys know eveything you hate is there, Stone walls, unsquare corner, hot dip galvanizing and yes there is metal under those plastic/wood treads. It was not an easy job.Last edited by woodweld1; 04-04-2011 at 01:21 PM.
Reply:I learned years ago, you build exactly what the drawing shows and if there is a change get it in wrighting, take pictures, keep a note book of your daily progress and discussions and your a$$ is covered.
Reply:Originally Posted by woodweld1Your right thats why I took the pic in the first place, They paid me to fix it. You can see on the last pic the extra bricks are gone.
Reply:Hello DSW: Yep,  I extended the post and added a step.  About the pics there not in order on my camera, sometimes I'll have more than one job going at once and I take alot of pics some on phone some on camera depending on what im trying to document. and they get out of order.
Reply:woodweld,How do you roll a spiral like you did with the handrail?

Reply:The inside railing.. is that one of those regency railings? Do the pre formed curved panels work well on a stair like that.. or did you end up having to bend them more?    Also the first pic of the park railing.. can't tell if its an illusion or not, but it looks like that beam supporting the landing comes out into the middle of things to tie into that column.. likes look like a nice head banger.. and looks odd?? Why not columns directly under the landing, like the one next to the vending machine??      Everything looks real nice..
