Reply:Nice. Do the cutting torches all take the same tips? I only use Smith so I don't have to buy multiple size tips in different brands. How do you decide which one to use? I like to rotate so none of mine feel left out!"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"

Reply:well the harris torches take the same tips but victor and purox dont.the w24, harris 85 and now the w17 ill use for welding. i like to rotate too and i love them equally!!. the big harris cut a piece of 3.5 inch solid a couple of days ago!but there mostly set upfor doing"normal"thickness ranges that youl see in the field.glad yous like it,and smith is next on my list.ive never owned one.lincoln weld pak 100 hdlincoln ranger 225gxt ac/dcoxy/acetylenepuroxcw202 victor fc100harris model 85harrismodel 16oxweld w24roxweld w17
Reply:notice the edge of the bucket in that pic.its really old!!and copper.it had a bunch of holes and cracks so i braze welded with bronze and it turned out real nice.as i was heating the copper would expand and crack more so every one ended up being slightly larger .i dont know the size but it was about paper thin!ill have to get some picks for everyone. ive discovered that i have a crush on some non ferrous metals lately!!lincoln weld pak 100 hdlincoln ranger 225gxt ac/dcoxy/acetylenepuroxcw202 victor fc100harris model 85harrismodel 16oxweld w24roxweld w17

Reply:I just dug up an old, unused Harris Model 16 from work that needs to be rebuilt, I think I will like that one.  I also recently picked up a freshly rebuilt Victor CA2460 with regulators and hoses from craigslist. That is a good sized torch set. Although I can't fault my first Victor torch, model WH270FC-V that I bought brand new, the torch body valves are stiff to operate. I really want to get the Harris torch rebuilt because it just feels well balanced and smooth.  Those clever Irish! Pictures:-1. Harris model 162. Victor model CA24603.
