does anyone here know what would it would take to build a high frequencey arc starter for my ac dc welder thankyou
Reply:I've seen various methods of building one discussed, but unless you have some electrical knowledge beyond a passing interest...I'd check Ebay they are listed from time to time and usually sell for $75-$125. There are numerous articles on the web about building one,but by the time you monkey around trying to get a semi-functional unit together you could have purchased a used one and been welding for about the same price maybe less.I got one for $26 bucks because the seller listed it as something else....and I've passed on several that brought less than $50.If you type in Arc Stabilizer you might get more answers also.Like this...http://www3.telus.net/public/a5a26316/TIG_Welder.htmlI assume this is your final goal Tig welding.. Try this..http://www.diy-welder.com/or thishttp://www.buildyouridea.com/hardwar...tabilizer.htmlLast edited by mudbugone; 03-21-2010 at 11:33 PM.

Reply:Did those sites help? The first one is pretty involved..the last one is pretty basic and the total welder site in the middle is really involved if a tig machine is your final goal.Good Luck...and let everyone know your progress on this. |
