Looking for any help in getting my Century 100 Model No. 117-050-910 working.I bought it off CL with a full bottle.First time I use it, it just sputters. I think it's the ground clamp so I replace it with a new 230A clamp. Same problem. I decide it's probably polarity so I look for the manual for the machine online. I can't find it but find one for the more recent model which doesn't help much in changing polarity. So I decide to just switch the wire to gasless wire and run it gasless. I realize the previous owner already had gasless wire installed. That means I was trying to use gasless wire with gas. I'm not sure what that would do, but I guessed that might be the problem. So I run it without the gas and with gasless wire and it still just sputters and doesn't really put down a weld. I decide to flip the wires to switch the polarity and then the wire doesn't feed at all. Is there something I did wrong while changing polarity? Does anyone know how to change polarity on this particular welder or can anyone verify that the top nut is the positive end and the bottom nut is negative?here's a pic:the ground cable wire was originally attached to the top nut and the wire feed was connected to the bottom. When I switched the two, as in the pic, to change the polarity, the wire feed stopped working.
Reply:Disregarding polarities for the moment. When you pull the trigger, do you hear a click and the motor begins turning the drive rolls?www.triarc.us |
