I bought a new HF 20 Ton press and decided to stiffen it up a little, and re-weld their welds on the top channels. I put web gussets in the top channels and the bed channels. Then boxed them with 3/16" plate. I want to be able to roll it around so I added a new base with a shelf for storing extra plates and stuff. Attached Images

Reply:The movable bed got heavy so I added a winch to move it up and down, and also end plates with guides to try to take some of the slop out of the movable bed. I am going to remake the guide blocks again to tighten the slop up even more. Here are some pictures of the finished job. I had to get away from the HF orange? Attached Images
Reply:I did not want the bed pins to slide so I added collars and lynch pins to them. I also built a press brake but I still need to get some pictures of it, so here is the last set of pictures for the press. Attached Images

Reply:I have one of these myself, I am going to add the swagg offroad press brake. I thought it was a little light weight for 20 tons, I may copy your ideas, nice work!
Reply:Do yourself a favor and add the Harbor Freight 20 ton air-over hydraulic jack. It takes the chore out of the job. Direct slip in fit. BTW, dismantle the trigger keeper on the air valve. Reply:I've used three different jacks in my press. Normal bottle jack, air over hydraulic bottle jack, and a fast lift bottle jack. I prefer to use the fast lift jack the most.My name's not Jim....
