I struck a deal with the LWS here in Dubuque and have a Presion Tig 225 on the way. I already has a bottle of gas. So what else should I get when I pick it up so I can play around with it. I'm have no idea on what is a good stainless rod and the same with alum. What tunstion should I have also. I just need a basic starter kit idea and as time and cash permit I will get more. Thanks for any idea's. I will also be getting a stinger so I can stick weld the larger items.]Lincoln PT 225 Tig
Reply:Ceriated or lanthinated tungsten; ER308 is good for most 300 series stainless (a lot of guys like 309 also), ER70S2 is good for a variety of steels, and 4043 is a good (fairly universal) alum. filler.Have fun with it."SOUTHPAW" A wise person learns from another persons mistakes;A smart person learns from their own mistakes; But, a stupid person.............never learns.
Reply:it should come with a torch and stinger. Get some 6010, 7018, er70s2 and start there.UA Local 598

Reply:Drich, Just get the 6010, 6011 is for AC. If you had to buy one size to start it would be 3/32" the choice of flavor is up to you. |
