here is a mig weld i did on a 1/2" plate i cut and beveled.free hand ( with soap stone line) i did.and somw targets i made. from left to right. .22 spinner, .30-06 or .223 attachment, .22 tree mounted spinner, and a .22 attachment for the saw-horse target holder I made. the .30-06 goes to saw-horse one.So, what do ya'll think?
Reply:What kind and thickness of steel did you use for the .223 and 06' targets?
Reply:1/2 inch. they will be set at longer ranges.
Reply:I know a .308 pierces 1/2 inch mild steel with power to spare at 100 feet.

Reply:yep, i cant. i have glasses and need to still order some safety glasses online( normal ones wont fit over my eye glasses.)
Reply:Joshawa,Well for the application the welds should hold together.  So if that is the question you are asking then I guess they will be okay.  But generally speaking it would be better if the "stacked dimes" were smoothed across all the way. As in one continuous weld. Here is a small picture mig welding. The machine should make a nice consistent welding sound.
