Ok I just got my first Tig rig I need to be tig welding a 1/4 stainless 17-4 PH round bar to a 1/8 think stainless 17-4 PH flat bar 3/4 wide what amps should I set my machine on I do not have one with a pedal what size tungsten and ceramic should I use and any useful tips would be very appreciated Thanks for any help
Reply:Try 3/32 red tungsten (2% thoriated) I think, number 5 cup, and about 80 amps. Gas should be straight argon at about 10-15 cfh.UA Local 598 |
