Reply:Wow. Great repair as usual. I just find it hard to believe that the part would be worth all that work. Reply:Yeah I figured it would of taken at least that long. My luck the casting would of fought me every step of the way and taken twice that long. Still as long as you and the customer are happy that's what counts.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm

Reply:Originally Posted by castweldIt did fight me somewhat, lots of porosity. Gave it a generous epoxy coating on the inside. He hasn't picked it up yet, hopefully we will both be happy.

Reply:Castweld, great job! If you don't mind me asking, what type of epoxy did you use and, how do you determine the type of filler to use on such a repair?

Reply:Hey that's amazing, I had a customer do something a little similar to the inside of his CF500 engine case...it wasn't cost effective to fix I thought..but after seeing that I might give it a go next time.
Reply:great repair, thanks for sharing it!
Reply:Castweld that is a very pretty repair. and the added epoxy to insure no leaks was way smart. That customer should be very happy with a 3 hour bill, plus eco and haz fees. Down here in the south the eco and haz fees are getting ridiculous. Every few days it seem to get a little more expensive to dump old hot work trash. Once the guy asked me for a hazmat declaration for a bunch of shavings and chips. Cmon dude your kidding right? But he wasn't, and of course they cannot supply the paperwork, When I went back they didnt ask for it. Pissed me off.BobI'm spending my Kids inheritance, I dont like him that much anyway!!!!!!Enuff tools to do the job, enough sense to use em.Anybody got a spare set of kidneys? Trade?
