If one were to make a handrail with steps say halfway on the run. Say like it steps down four times how do you calculate the bend on the top rail? This is all an example scenario. I'm just looking at how one figures this out.ThanksMelt-n-Metal
Reply:Not sure what you are asking.  There are several thread on rail  fabrication.  Here is a simple method.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...ht=method+rail
Reply:Foolish me I should've did a search first. However, that's close to what I am looking for.I basically just want to know how to calculate the angle and distance of the rail when going down the steps. All so if you were to use a tubing bender where to make your bends and such. I'm asking cause I have future plans for myself work wise (self employment) and would like to learn/know how to do this. Thanks for somewhat slapping me in the head and being nice about it on the searching part.Melt-n-Metal
Reply:Digital levels are nice. Home depot sells some cheap yet reliable and durable levels digital levels.  Lay a straight edge across all steps, take a reading.  You can also use trig fuctions.  Rise/run.  I perfer to take reading as close to the steps as possible.  I can always get those.  Shooting horizontal lines  around the world and vertical lines out into space in unnecessary and not always accessible especially  inside buildings.
Reply:Ahh good idea.Melt-n-Metal
