Just got new helmet and put in a magnifying lens. There is a gap of about 3/16 inch between lens and lens in helmet.Has anyone found a way to seal this space to reduce fogging and lengthen the time that dirt and smoke need to be cleaned between the two?

Reply:yeah, I also found that the cheater lens would add glare, especially as the lenses get a bit dusty, now I much prefer to just use the helmet with no cheater and instead use a set of glasses while using the helmet, reduces glare and easier to clean and maintain and in the end just better viewability than the cheater lens. you can get generic glasses at most drug stores or whatever, and you can get the same magnifications, anything from 1.25 all the way up to 2,5 and I think even higher than that. I find 2.0 to be a good all around magnification and I will go all the way to 2.5 when working on hard to see stuffmiller 330a bp TIGmiller dynasty 200DX TIGmillermatic 185 MIGthermal dynamics cutmaster 101 plasma cuttersnap-on YA5550 plasma cutterhypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutterbaileigh CS225 cold sawetc.... |
