Here are a few more photos, hope they come out. I work for a small branch of a large municipality in upstate NY, we have a lot of large water valves we take care of , some require you to make new parts once in a while, I had to make a "wrench" to remove bronze bushings from the valve bodies http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/...8-45-25_80.jpg The wrench is on the left, made from scrap welded together, the bushing is on the right. I dont have a mill at my shop so we send it to one of our other shops to get the grooves cut into the bushings, I make the bushings in my shop. http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/...5-46_430-1.jpgThis shows the bushing placed on the wrench (if it shows up) http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/...-45-59_796.jpg I made a "nut" with a nice fitting thread to hold the bushings for machining after I cut the thread (some need to be bored to a non standard reamer size to fit each individual valve) I put this nut in the 3 jaw and use a strap wrend to remove the bushing after machining, this shows the bushing before the grooves are cut in the outside portion http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/...-46-32_703.jpg http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/...-46-55_925.jpgThe valves have handles to switch from motor to hand, and they have adjustment screws in them, I make them out of stainless steel, we couldnt find the slotted head in the length we wanted with a vendor we deal with, so I make them when needed. I face them in the lathe then cut the screwdriver slot on a small south bend shaper, slow but it works http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/...-51-47_964.jpg http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/...-51-02_307.jpgNot sure if you can see it well or not, I have a small "v-pad" that goes in the vise of the shaper and holds the screws well, then I can do a bunch at one sitting I think that is it for now, I have a bunch of stuff Ive built for myself, but is in storage for the last two years due to a nasty divorce, trying to find a place to get it set up so I can start working again, I had pictures of alot of the work Ive done, but that got lost in the divorce.....when I took my tools equipment and clothes, she managed to do away with the photo albums of work I had, guess Ill have to start over. Hope you guys enjoy the photos, not the caliber of alot of the work on here, but I wanted to share something after looking at all the great photos on here, this is an awesome site. Have a good weekend guys! Craig
