I had a bare spot in the yard and thought this Armillary Sphere would look good here. Its made from 3/16 X 1 flat stock and the arrow and tail is 16 guage. As I am learning to tig I made the arrow head and tail out of two pieces of 16 guage and shaped them and welded the edges to form a hollow piece. I found that using 1/16 tungsten and setting the pulse at 3 per second and 65 amps I did not need any filler just followed the edge and got a very good weld. I have learned a lot by lurking here and reading many of the threads written by people that know much more that me, So keep it up we are out here trying to learn. Flat stock was welded with my mig. Reply:does it rotate or  is it all welded joints?
Reply:no all welded joints. It is a model of the celestial sphere also works as a sun dial when properly set.
Reply:Nice job. How about a close up of those autogenous welds?
