Dillon/Henrob style torch - is it better??

Hey guys.I currently have a Victor Firepower that I use all the time. I enjoy gas welding very much and have gotten fairly good at it. I have been reading about the Dillon torch and how it is hotter more focused and uses less fuel. I like the concept.Do you guys (oadoc and makoman) have any opinions. Is it worth my money to go get one. Or should I keep saving for a TIG.Thanks, RyanLincoln PowerMig 180cVictor O/ABandaids and aspirinI don't know what I don't know!?
Reply:Short answer, No. The claim of "less fuel used" is bull, pure and simple. Just a marketing line of BS that science fails to prove ( Except in the cutting mode, but thats not a miracle, its just a tiny cutting tip that has its limitations). Now the flame.....well its a nice one, but so in a Smith, a Meco, or any number of older torches built when O/A was the mainstay technology. Is the flame better then for firepower, yes, but I would think a Smith AW1A handle and tips with a nice light hose would suit you better, and be much more cost effective. The Henrob is a well made tool, but to me is more of a "fringe" tool rather than a "main" tool if you know what I mean. Many of the professional gas welders have one, but rarely use it. As far as saving up for a tig, well its your money, if you want to spend more for less capability its your choice
