I finally decided to take a couple of hours to add infeed/outfeed support to my cheapo Harbor Freight 4x6 bandsaw.Confession time: I "borrowed" (Stole) this idea from another WW member. Now multiple repetitive cuts are a bit quicker. Harbor Freight roller stands are used for long pieces on the infeed side when needed. Attached Images
Reply:Does that HF band saw work pretty good ? I defiantly like your addition to it.

Reply:Nice sturdy stand, nice infeed & outfeed, but I especially like your placement of the tray to catch all of the metal cutting and keep the floor clean.
Reply:The easy solution tot he crappy base it comes with is to mount it to the top of a 2 drawer filing cabinet on a frame. Raises it to normal work height and keeps all the blades and stuff together. Look in the Yahoo groups 4X6 bandsaw for the filing cabinet drawings. Easy and quick project.BobI'm spending my Kids inheritance, I dont like him that much anyway!!!!!!Enuff tools to do the job, enough sense to use em.Anybody got a spare set of kidneys? Trade?
Reply:That is really nice!! You might be interested in an accessory that I made for my 20 year old Jet 4x6. It allows you to cut short pieces of material without worrying about the vise canting and the piece slipping. It is just 3 pieces of 3/8" flat stock and 1 piece of 3/16", welded up and then run thru the mill for clean up, some 1/2" bolt stock and a knob and end ferrule I made.It just drops over the vise jaw, then you snug the vise up to the work piece, and screw the stop in until it touches, then tighten the vise. I'm going to rebuild this saw and maybe the stop will finally get painted too.
Reply:Nice add on for the bandsaw. I'll have to add that to my list to build for mine.As far as the OP, nice job. The only down side I see to the table is if you need to do angled cuts. If you were slick enough to set the whole thing on a piviot centered on the blade path, my hats off to you..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:Yup, all that stuff!
Reply:Tool Junkie,Thanks for the ideas and the pics.DSW,Yep, I should have made a pivoting infeed/outfeed. Moving roller supports is inconvenient when making angled cuts. Since i'm just a hobbyist, most of my projects include the "If I had it to do over again I would change ___________" factor. All in all, the 4x6 bandsaws provide a lot of bang for the buck.
