ok, here's my home made pig rotisserri

i used my junky stick welder but twas no good ,so i bought the Harbor freight 90 flux to do the task...the rotisserrie motor is a 6rpm threadmill excerciser flatform lifter and the L-bar is actually a metal bed frame cut into pieces and welded together...the whole pig is $80 clean, 3hrs to cook.... .. since the rotisserie is too hot, i installed another heavy duty 120v computer fan directed to the motor to prevent it from overheating.http://imageshack.us/g/813/dsc05812o.jpg/in action:thanks to my Almighty Harbor freight 90 flux core welder...i think the hobart and the lincoln would be too overkill for the task...it's just a rotisserrie hey!..HF is enough.Last edited by Mig; 07-16-2011 at 12:04 AM.

Reply:Neat. Here are a couple of the kids pigs for 4H. I keep debating about building a roaster ( the one we had access to is currently MIA and know ones sure who's got it right now... I know I can get one from the guy who runs the 4H pig program if I need one, I weld up some stuff for the Pig club at no charge other than materials. Reply:Nice job Mig.   Bed frames are one of my favorite project materials. There's a rotisserri in the future for the BBQ/smoker I built recently http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=57183 once I acquire/settle on the right drive motor arrangement.  However, I don't think Judy would appreciate me stealing her treadmill motor. Reply:takes 2-3hours to completely cook the whole pig.i stuffed the pig with lemon grass/onions/salt/pepper/lotsa garlic/onion leaves/and sprite.i hand massage the skin with skim milk to make it golden red and crunchy when cooked. i make the sauce out of the pig's own liver. / osterize the liver, sautee with onion,galic and sugar add some amount of cornstarch or flour to make the sauce thick...simmer then ready to dip!best with steam rice...

Reply:jackalope you can see that the pig is stitched back up between the ribs. people around here and myself will toss in a onion and garlic peppers ect. to add with the spices of the meat, being stitched up also helps keep the moisture locked in but and the roti is to help cook all sides evenly.
