Hello, I am looking for advice on welding this header shut, attached are some photos, I will sand them down but I am looking for advice on what settings to use. Ive read to use high quick heat and sorta zap it almost as you would tac something, anyone have any advice on getting this done right and not making it worse? The mig is a 120 V ya219Thank you for any help Attached Images
Reply:These kinda jobs usually require a high frequency beam pre-heat before using the zap setting. Does your MIG have a high frequency beam pre-heat setting?Last edited by joedirt1966; 09-03-2010 at 12:26 PM.
Reply:Here are the stats* Primary volt 120 * Phase single * Frequency 60hz * Features variable wire speed * Variable heat settings * Adjustable spot Stitch weld mode knob * Adjustable spot weld time knob * Adjustable stitch weld time knob * Adjustable weld interval stitch knobIf not any other way to accomplish a fix? I think i have another welder that you put a long stick in it (TIG?) but i hear that is not an easy weld to do. Also have a torch thing that i use to bend metal a mixture of two big tanks that gets me the blue flame, ive seen someone weld with that as well.
